~**My Most Recent Pretties- Inspired by Marie Antoinette Fashion**~
I have recently become enamored with Marie Antoinette inspired treasures. The 18th century French fashion is ooooh la la oh so shabby cottage chic!! I have created a few new goodies to list in my shops and am working on even more! Here are just a few of what I have created so far! |
I just love these tags. I made them double sided and double thickness so they could be used and treasured for many years and not just as gift tags. They are more like beautiful shabby chic ornaments. |
I don't have any fancy photo editing or graphic software, so I just printed the images, hand cut, hand glued, and hand glittered! I put lots of love into these beautiful tags. One side Marie is wearing a beautiful gown in pink and on the other side a beautiful red gown. This is a set of 3 small tags! For more detailed information go to my ebay store with the link below: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Beautiful-Marie-Antoinette-Embellished-Tags-Ornaments-/160519565289?pt=Art_Mixed_Media&hash=item255fb62fe9 |
This is a stunning set of 4 larger tags. These measure 6 inches tall and around 4 inches wide. There are 4 different Marie Antoinette images on the tags. These are also double sided and double thickness for more durability and use in home decor and as ornaments. The back features the same French scrolly image on all 4 tags. I used a lovely mauve satin ribbon for the hangers. This set is also available on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Lovely-Marie-Antoinette-LRG-Embellished-Ornament-Tags-/160519570383?pt=Art_Mixed_Media&hash=item255fb643cf |
I just love the way this heart shaped hanging pillow turned out. I used a special process to antique the fabrics, ribbon and lace. It is just stunning and the pictures don't do it justice at all. Please go take a look at it for more detail at my ebay store! http://cgi.ebay.com/Shabby-Cottage-Chic-Marie-Antoinette-Hanging-Pillow-/310280031653?pt=Decorative_Pillows&hash=item483e218da5 |

***~Beautifully Embellished Vintage Child's Sled From Nutmeg-Hill~***
My dear friend from Nutmeg-Hill created this amazing display using a vintage child's sled! This is just stunning and a one of a kind treasure like no other! Beautifully crafted in grand Shabby Cottage Chic style! Please click on the gray link below to view more detail of this sweet offering from Nutmeg-Hill! http://cgi.ebay.com/SLED-PINK-ICE-SKATES-VINTAGE-VERY-SHAB-VERY-CHIC-/270674301922?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f057213e2 |
It is said that first impressions make the difference. Place this spectacular vignette at your door this Christmas and impress everyone that enters your home. Grand in the hallway this vintage sled with the dazzling pink ice skates has that wow factor.
We started with a child's vintage sled which we painted the best shabby cottage ivory biscuit you ever saw. We added a large double bow made from French wired ribbon in powder puff pink satin.
A paper mache large star has been heavily glittered to add dazzle and the finishing touch is our amazing shabby cottage chic vintage pink leather ice skates...circa 1940. Pink and white variegated laces are made with French ribbon and add punch to the skates. They have been dazzled with pink German diamond dust. No easy task...a labor of love ....they are sure to catch the eye of everyone. Marabou white boa trim and white jingle bells complete the picture.
Don't miss our beautiful wreath that looks as if it has been frozen with a glaze of ice. SPECTACULAR.
Details: SLED= 35 inches long and 22 inches wide at the cross bar at the top of the sled.
We call this presentation "WINTER WONDERLAND"
This could also be placed on a door like a wreath. It will carry you through the winter season.

**~MyEarthlyTreasures Canned Pumpkin Bread Recipe!!!~**
Ohhhhhh my my my! My Aunt Patty is a wonderful cook and a delightfully sweet lady! I was chatting with her today when she told me she is selling this amazingly neat recipe on Etsy. It is for CANNED PUMPKIN BREAD!! It is actually baked right in the canning jar and seals so it will last a long long time! What wonderful homemade gifts this would make for that special someone!! You could decorate the jars with fabric and ribbons...it would be just lovely and what a special treat!!! The recipe is also available for a wonderful CANNED APPLE BREAD as well and is only $2.50 in her etsy shop myearthlytreasures. Here is a gorgeous pic of how it turns out!!!
Just imagine how pretty the jars will look all decorated for Christmas gifts!! It's also really neat that this bread is canned so that as long as the seal is not broken it will last and last. Make some up ahead and bring it out, slice it when you have unexpected company. Wonderful served with hot tea too!!! Just visit my Aunt's etsy shop for this very inexpensive recipe and wonderful & unique gift idea!!!

*~True Thankfulness!!!~*
You know we should always be thankful for all that God provides us, but in our daily lives of hustle and bustle we often don't take the time to reflect on just how truly blessed we are!
I have been trying more and more lately to do just that. My preacher gave a sermon a little while back and said something so very true. "Even the poorest Americans are rich when compared to the people of some other countries."
Think about what those people are going through, and how we have been blessed. A lot of them have no resources and no where to turn for help. In America we have churches, food pantries, shelters and so many other options.
Even some the very poorest of us still have a roof over our heads, running water, bathrooms. We have shoes on our feet, clothes to wear, food to eat. We have TV's and microwave ovens, and so many things that those beautiful people in other places around the world will never get to have.
I try to get up each and everyday, not just on Thanksgiving, and look around me at all that God has given me. The beautiful trees that God created with all their many colors and the way they bend and sway in the wind, the birds that sing to me every morning, the beautiful white puffy clouds against the amazingly blue sky. Remember to thank our precious Creator for all that He has given you. We are truly and deeply blessed.
My husband lost his good paying job a few months back. We are living on substantially less income now than we were last year at this time. But, despite that....we are blessed!! Christmas is going to be slim this year...but despite that we are truly and deeply blessed! Celebrate, and be thankful for what God gave us in His one and only son Jesus Christ! Look around you at your home, your yards, your families, and rejoice, cry out in thankfulness to God the Father for all he has blessed you with.
One night I was thinking about a particular family member that repeatedly did and said things that were such a frustration. I was looking up to the stars and God very clearly said to me "Love the Unlovable". So, I am also thankful for those people in my life that cause frustration, irritation, even anger, because through them, God is teaching me something! I thank God even for the trials and tribulations we must face. He is right there with us holding our hands all the way through, and making us stronger in Him!
May God shine His glorious face upon you, and continue to send you blessings overflowing!
